Anine Christine (Svendsen) LeCocq, 96, of Waseca, MN died Friday, June 24, 2011, at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca. Anine, the first of four daughters born to Jens and Christina (Jepsen) Svendsen, was born March 20, 1915, in Dike, Iowa. She attended public school in Dike until she went to work at the Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She later worked at Hinson Manufacturing and Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, Iowa. Anine was married to Harlan James LeCocq on September 6, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. They took up residence in Waterloo, Iowa and lived there for the rest of their life together. In 1952 they started LeCocq Accounting & Tax Service where Anine acted as Office Manager until she and Harlan retired. After Harlan’s death in 1989, Anine moved to Maple Terrace in Waseca, Minnesota so that she could be close to family. One of Anine’s greatest joys was spending time with her granddaughters and watching them participate in activities. She also liked to play bingo and cards with her friends at Maple Terrace. She enjoyed travel, seeing new places, meeting people, and doing for others. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Amy LeCocq of Waseca; granddaughter and husband, Sarah and Steve Ketter, of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; granddaughter Bethany of Waseca; and sister Agnes Henning of McHenry, Illinois. Anine was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan; her parents, Jens and Christina Svendsen; and her sisters Edna Nielsen and Mary Jane Hensel. Funeral services will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 5:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Iowa on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be follow at Waterloo Cemetery. |
