LORRAINE MARIE LABS, age 77 of Waseca died Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Janesville Nursing Home.
Born in Waterville, Minnesota on December 19, 1930, she was the daughter of Ted and Ida (Scheffert) Lyons. She graduated from Waterville High School. Lorraine married Fred Labs on June 3, 1951 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waterville. She had been employed at the E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca for 35 years. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, gambling, traveling, fishing, watching baseball and going to the movies. Lorraine was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca and the Eagles Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Fred of Waseca; one son, Dan Labs of Waseca and special friend, Sue Kewatt of Kilkenny; and three grandsons. She is also survived by two brothers, Howard (Florence) Lyons of Lake City, MN and Arvid (Marilyn) Lyons of San Diego, CA; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Lyons and friend Howard of Waterville, Elizabeth (Duane) Volk of Waterville, Selma (Gene) Hendrickson of Owatonna, Ruth Enge and friend Ron of Faribault, and Shirley (LeRoy) Rockman of Faribault; brothers-in-law, Martin (Doris) Labs of Waterville and Bernard (Pat) Labs of Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-Tom, two brothers-John and Kenneth, sister-Nancy Nelson, and brother-in-law Donald Labs.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Neil Westby officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, one hour before services at the church. |
