GLADYS KRENKE, age 97 of Corona, CA formerly of Waseca, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Vista Cove Nursing Home in Corona, CA.

Born on July 25, 1912 in Waseca, Minnesota she was the daughter of Karl Anton and Ellen (Anderson) Olson.  She attended Southside Elementary and Waseca Central High School.  Following her schooling, Gladys worked at Smith’s Restaurant in Waseca as a hostess and waitress.  She married William F. Krenke on August 27, 1930 at the English Lutheran Church in Waseca by Pastor Ivar Ramseth.  They lived and farmed in Wilton Township for many years.  After moving into Waseca in 1946, she worked as a lunch supervisor at Waseca Central High School and later at Brown Printing Co. in Waseca for 15 years.  Gladys was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca, and the Waseca Eagles, VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.

She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie (Douglas) Paskey of Corona, CA and one son, Robert (Diane) Krenke of Green Bay, WI; four grandchildren, Brian Krenke, Trista (Rick) Knuth, Scott Krenke, and Peter Lykins; and 6 great grandchildren, Maxwell, Alexis, Kristy, Kayla, Griffen, and Zach..  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1986, and three brothers-Floyd, Glen, and Marlan and one sister-Hilda.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.  Visitation will be held on Friday, one hour before services at the church.
