NEIL THOMAS KNAUSS, age 64 of Waseca died on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. Born on May 29, 1946 in Morristown, Minnesota he was the son of Loren and Dorothy (Busby) Knauss. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1965 and attended Pipestone Area Vo-Tech. Neil served in the US Marine Corp from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1968. During that time he was stationed in Vietnam from January of 1966 until July of 1967. Neil married Linda R. Lee on September 7, 1968 in St. Peter. After getting married they moved to Waseca and he worked at Brown Printing Co., Madsen’s Super Valu, Country Meats and the City of Waseca Street Department for many years, retiring in 2008. Neil enjoyed camping, traveling, woodworking, and spending time with grandkids and other family. He was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca where he had held a number of church offices and was a proud member of the church choir. He was a member of the Waseca American Legion holding offices both locally and within the county and also marched many years in the American Legion Parade Marching Unit. He was also a life member of the Waseca VFW. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Waseca; three children, Robert (Amy) Knauss of Bemidji, Carrie (Joe) Kouba of Winona and Sherrie (Andy) Seidensticker of Shakopee; and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Wayne (Julia) Knauss of Hawley, Ralph Knauss (friend Jeanette) of Montgomery, Bruce (Cynthia) Knauss of Fort Bragg, CA, and Jim (Diane) Knauss of South Pasadena, CA; one sister, Jane (Lon) Morsching of New Prague; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one aunt-Helen, and father-in-law. Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Monday June 21, 2010 from 4-7PM and continue on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Elden Eklund officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Morristown. |
