Marie "Betty" Klampe

MARIE “BETTY” KLAMPE, age 92 of Waseca died on Monday, June 28, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.

 

Born on January 30, 1918 in South Bend, Indiana she was the daughter of Ralph and Hildur Cover.  She attended school in Indiana.  Following her schooling, she worked as a laborer for local farmers.   She married Randolph Klampe on November 24, 1945 in Galveston, Indiana.  After getting married, they moved to Waseca where she worked at Birds Eye Division of General Foods for 10 years and later Brown Printing Co. before retiring after 19 years.  She enjoyed sewing, making baby quilts, embroidering and baking.  She was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca where she taught Sunday School, was a communion steward and was active with the church circle.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Maxine Klampe of Waseca; one sister, Alice Hively of Rochester, IN; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1995, three brothers, and one sister.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Elden Eklund officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 PM until the time of services at the church. 

 

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
