Martha “Marty” Horan, age 70, of Waterville, MN, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from complications following her diagnosis of brain cancer.

Born in Estherville, IA on Oct. 2, 1939, Marty was the daughter of Percy and Dorothy (Seibert) Langford. She grew up in Fairmont, MN and graduated from Fairmont High School. She and John “Jack” Horan were married March, 1960 in Fairmont. Marty lived in Wells, MN with her family for more than 38 years. She did re-upholstery and worked at Meryl’s Style Shop for many years. She managed a jewelry store in Albert Lea for a time. Marty received her CNA certification shortly before moving to Waterville in 1996, where she worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crafting stained glass, sewing, collecting and restoring antiques, gardening and decorating her home.

Marty is survived by her husband, Jack Horan of Waterville; daughter Theresa Horan and her husband, Bevin Schrupp of Ham Lake, MN; son, Patrick Horan, of Minneapolis; two grandchildren, Jessica Schrader of Mapleton, MN and Kalin Olivo of Blue Earth, MN; seven brothers and their spouses; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Corner Bar, 130 Main St E, Waterville, MN on July 11^th, noon to 3 PM. Memorials preferred to the Mayo Clinic Rochester.
