MINNIE EMMA HANSON, age 91 of River Falls, Wisconsin, formerly of Waseca died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Regina Medical Center in Hastings, Minnesota.
Born in Alma City, Minnesota on February 22, 1916, she was the daughter of August and Minnie (Gerdts) Kopischke. She graduated from Waseca Central High School in 1934. She married Lester J. Hanson on October 19, 1938 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca. She had been employed at McIntire Drug and the Mode O’Day in Waseca for several years until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, the Cotta Guild, Knitting Club, Quilters and Senior Choir for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Jerry) DeVries of San Antonio, TX and Sharyn (Wesley) Lienke of River Falls, WI; six grandchildren, Cherie (Joe) Short, Jeff DeVries, James (Barbara) DeVries, Michele (Eric) Vevang, Michael (Louisa) Lienke, and Brenda Lienke; six great granddaughters, Emma Lienke, Myah Lienke, Freja Vevang, Lindsay Short, Chole DeVries, and Emma DeVries; five great grandsons Alec DeVries, Anders Vevang, Lukas Lienke, Michael DeVries, and Justin Short. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Bonnie Hanson of Wells. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1987, one brother and his wife, Adolph (Vivian) Kopischke; three sisters and their husbands, Mathilda (Sully) Walther, Margaret (Jerry) Mahaffey, Mildred (Al) Spies; two brothers and two sisters in infancy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December, 28, 2007 at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca from 4-7 PM and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Terry Quick officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. |
