Harold Hamson

HAROLD ARNOLD HAMSON, age 72 of Waseca died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at his residence in Waseca.

 

He was born November 4, 1936 in Wells, Minnesota the son of Harvey and Katherine (Hampson) Hamson. He attended school in Bricelyn.  Harold married Lois Colstrup on November 21, 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.  He was employed with Brown Printing Co. in Waseca for 26 years, 13 years were spent in the pressroom and the final 13 years he worked as a toll motor operator in the warehouse.  Following his retirement in 1999, Harold and Lois enjoyed a month long trip to Alaska and spent seven winters in Texas.  He also enjoyed bow hunting and woodworking.  Harold was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.

 

He is survived by his wife, Lois of Waseca; three children, Tracy Ronsberg of Kinston, NC, Steven Hamson of Faribault, and John Hamson of Waseca; two grandchildren, Sandra Hamson and Stephanie Luhning; and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Betty Reece of Craig, CO and Marion (Harold) Guckenburg of White Water, WI.  He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings-Howard Hamson, Donna Burke, Gloria Borglum, Grace Burke, and Bernel Hamson.

 

Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 2-6 PM and continue on Sunday, one hour before services at the church.

 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 2:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Vicki Hultine and Rev. Reyna Purcell officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
