MARVIS RICHARD FRITZ, age 85 of Waseca, died on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Born in St. Mary Township, Waseca County, Minnesota on June 1, 1926, Marvis was the son of Otto and Florence (Schauer) Fritz.  He attended rural Waseca County school district #44.  He farmed the home farm in St. Mary Township his entire life until retiring and moving into Waseca in 1995.   In his free time, Marvis had played in the Waseca Senior Band and enjoyed visiting others in the nursing home.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton and the Waseca Senior Citizens.

Marvis is survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Orvit, Elin, and Emery; and one sister, Essel Kruger .

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton with Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
