Adeline Evans

ADELINE M. EVANS, age 94 of Waseca passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.

 

Born at her parent’s home in Meriden Township on June 16, 1916, Adeline was the daughter of Max and Ida (Scholljegerdes) Drache.  As a child she attended school in the rural Meriden area and was both baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  She married Raymond Evans on December 26, 1934 in Dodge Center, MN.  Together they lived in Meriden until moving to Waseca in 1956.  She was employed at Swift & Company, E.F. Johnson, and Herter’s Inc.  Adeline and Raymond loved to travel, and had visited all fifty states and Canada.  She was a member of the VFW Auxillary, the Modern Woodmen, and First Congregational church of Waseca where she was active with the Ladies Friendly.

 

Adeline is survived by one daughter, Shirley (Howard) Taborsky of Denver, Colorado; one grandson, Scott Taborsky of Idaho Spring, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Deloris Evans of Waseca; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and one sister.

 

Burial will take place at Owatonna Memorial Gardens at 11:00AM on Friday, July 9, 2010.  A memorial service will follow at 1:00PM on Friday, July 9, 2010 at the First Congregational Church in Waseca with Rev. Chris Meirose officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Congregational Church of Waseca or to the ISJ-MHS Hospice program.
