Esther L. Zellmer-Dvoracek

ESTHER L. ZELLMER-DVORACEK, age 97 of Waterville died on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.

Born on November 9, 1913 in Kilkenny, Minnesota, she was the daughter of August and Emma (Krueger) Richter.  She attended school in Kilkenny and Waterville High School.  Esther married Glenn Zellmer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kilkenny on November 14, 1940.  He preceded her in death in 1954.  Esther worked as a homemaker and helped on the farm.  She also worked at Murphy’s General Store in Kilkenny.  She married William Dvoracek on August 11, 1973 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kilkenny and he preceded her in death in 1996.  Esther enjoyed traveling, playing cards, gardening and canning.  She was a member of St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church and the Ladies Club.  She was also a member of the North Elysian Kitchen Band.

Esther is survived by two sons, Ronald (LaVonne) Zellmer of Waterville and Jerome (Karen) Zellmer of Fairbanks, AK; one daughter, Carol (Roger) Savoie of Waterville; one step-son, Gary (Janice) Dvoracek of Holmen, WI; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Gladys Richter of Waterville.   She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers-Alvin (Minnie) Richter and Walter Richter; and one sister-in-law Lucille (Harold) Hansen.

Visitation will be held at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 4-7 PM and continue on Friday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 1:00 PM at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church with Rev. Russ Grabau officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.
