WARREN W. DOMONOSKE, age 69 of Waterville, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato. Born in New Prague, Minnesota on September 18, 1939, Warren was the son of Fred & Hazel (Weithoff) Domonoske. He attended Waterville schools, and graduated in 1958. Following graduation, he went to work on the family farm. On November 5, 1960, Warren was married to Karon Poehler at the Elysian United Methodist Church. It was at that time they moved to their current farm, where they raised three children and have lived and worked ever since. He was a member of the Cannonville Church in LeSueur County. Warren was a “We, Not Me” kind of man, his family always came first; he was ready, willing, and able to help in any way. He enjoyed watching his children & grandchildren, sporting events, turkey hunting, and as the boys grew older, vacations became trips to watch David and Russell compete in Walleye tournaments. Most of all, he enjoyed being home on the farm with the family. His sports career was lived vicariously thru his children by attending most all of their events in high school. He never missed his daughter’s collegiate basketball games at Mankato State where he traveled many miles/hours which became their mini vacations. The unending support followed through to the grandchildren making many of their games. He is our never-ending cheerleader/coach in all areas of our lives. Watching them achieve all these accomplishments made him extremely PROUD. In 4-H, he was our leader with many wonderful days spent preparing our projects, leading our cattle, & enduring the thrill of the show ring victories at various levels of competition. He lived, breathed, ate, and slept cattle, swine, and crop production. Through farm family life he taught us the ins and outs of raising livestock, being a steward of our natural resources, and showing us the value of enjoying the riches of the land. He was truly a gentle optimist in John Deere attire. Warren is survived by his wife, Karon Domonoske of Waterville; his mother, Hazel Domonoske of Waterville; and his children, Russell (Nancy) Domonoske of Elysian, Tammy Domonoske of Ventura, Iowa, and David (Amy) Domonoske of Waterville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Bridget, Izak, Meghan, and Haley Domonoske; one brother, Donald (Judy) Domonoske of Waterville, two brothers-in-law, his mother-in-law, and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM on Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Cannonville Church in Le Sueur County, with Rev. David Crow and Fr. Syl Brown officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville is handling arrangements. |
