Dora Jean Cox

 

DORA JEAN COX, age 83 of Waterville died on Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.

 

Born on November 17, 1923 in Bradford, Illinois, she was the daughter of William and Marie (Mielkey) Morris.  She graduated from high school in Sheffield, Illinois and attended Normal Teacher’s Training in Bloomington, IL.  Dora was employed at Barkel Overdoors in Sheffield, IL.  She married Ed Cox on December 26, 1969 in Lincoln, IL.  Ed and Dora moved to Waterville in 1970 and she was employed with Brown Printing Co. in Waseca until her retirement.  She was a member of St. Andrews’s Episcopal Church in Waterville.  She was active in the Waterville community as well as with the Democratic Party and TOPS.  Dora also enjoyed sports, especially the Vikings and Twins.

 

Dora is survived by her husband, Ed of Waterville and one son, Mark Anderson and his wife Ruby of Shady Shores, TX.  She is also survived by one sister, Mildred Taft and her husband JR of Lincoln, IL and two nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Robert Michael Green.

 

Visitation will be held at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 4-6 PM.

 

Memorials are preferred to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church or the Leukemia Society.
