ANN PAULINE CAWLEY, age 105 of Waterville, died on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.

Ann was born June 26, 1906 in Cleveland, Minnesota she was the daughter of Theodore and Emma (Gehrke) Thiessen.  Following the death of her mother, her father, who was blind, was unable to care for Ann and her siblings.  On the way to taking his kids to the Children’s Home in Owatonna, they stopped at the Michael Larkin farm near Janesville to spend the night.  The Larkin’s took a liking to Ann and had her stay with them, raising her as their own daughter.  Ann married Sylvester Cawley, a farmer from Waseca.  They raised various farm animals and crops.  After being married for thirty years, her husband passed away.  She later lived at Maple Terrace in Waseca until moving into the Waterville Good Samaritan Center in 1998.  Ann enjoyed taking care of plants, repairing various things and cooking.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.

She is survived by two sons, Christopher & Deniese Cawley of Waseca and John Cawley of Apple Valley; four grandchildren, Marshal (Anna) Cawley of Waseca, Angie (Chris) Roberts of Prior Lake, Amber (Ben) Toste of Prior Lake and Matthew Covington; three great grandchildren, Owen and Tanner Roberts and Nicole Covington and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.  

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Rev. Martin Schaefer officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until the time of the service at the church.  A rosary will be prayed at 2:30PM.  Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in rural Waseca.  Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca is handling arrangements.
