WESLEY D. BRYANT, age 86 of Waseca died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 21, 1921, he was the son of Chester and Minnie (Monk) Bryant. After graduating from Robbinsdale High School he entered the University of Minnesota before serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. His military service included time in China, Burma and India. Following his discharge he completed his B.S. Degree in Food Technology at the University of Minnesota. After graduation Wes began his career with the USDA. He married Muriel Jenkins in Rochester. After moving to Waseca in 1959 he worked at Birds Eye Division of General Foods until retiring in 1986 as Quality Control Manager. As an active community member, Wes served on the Waseca Parks Board and also as the public address announcer at the Waseca Braves baseball games. Wes enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Gophers, Twins and Vikings. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca. He was a life member of VFW Post 1642, and American Legion Post 228, both in Waseca. He was also a member of the Waseca Masonic Lodge and the Institute of Food Technology.
He is survived by four children, Barbara Bryant of San Francisco, CA, Allen Bryant of Wilmette, IL, Howard Bryant of Waseca and Anita (Curtis A.) Tesch of Waseca, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister Jeanette Doscherholmen, and her husband Dr. Alfred Doscherholmen.
Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 4-8 PM with a 7:00 PM Masonic service. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Neil Westby officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. |
