Norman E. Bohmbach

NORMAN E. BOHMBACH, age 74 of Waseca, died on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Waseca Medical Center.

Born on September 4, 1936 in Akeley, Minnesota, Norman was the son of Wallace and Alvina (Wendorf) Bohmbach.  He graduated from high school in Akeley before continuing his education at the University of Minnesota.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1958 and received his Master’s Degree in 1965.  On June 4, 1960, Norman was married to Vivian A. Cornelius in Elk River, Minnesota.  Beginning his career in 1958, Norman was a teacher for most of his professional life.  He began by teaching vocational agriculture in Upsala and Osakis, followed by vocational agriculture and farm management in Waseca, and finally full-time farm management in Waseca.  From 1998 until present he operated a consulting business.  Norm enjoyed hunting and fishing, having coffee with friends, and cheering for the Vikings.  He has been an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca for over forty years, and had served in countless capacities during that time.   

Norman is survived by his wife, Vivian of Waseca; four daughters, Karla Bohmbach (Tom Martin) of Selinsgrove, PA, Christi Bohmbach (Daniel O’Brien) of Portland, OR, Deb Jelinek (Tony Jelinek) of Forest Lake, MN, and Dawn Lindblom of Sacramento, CA; four grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol Andersen of Washington Courthouse, OH, and Lorraine Sauer (Richard Sauer) of Bemidji, MN; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents; and one sister, Vivian Anderson.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. Terry Quick officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
