Leona E. Bluhm

LEONA (FOGAL) BLUHM, age 92 of Waldorf died Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.

 

Born in Kenyon, Minnesota on June 20, 1915, she was the daughter of Jorgen and Randi (Ramstad) Langemo. She graduated from Kenyon High School and St. Olaf College in Northfield.  She married James Fogal in 1938.  Leona had spent her career working in education, teaching in Waldorf as well as New Richland.   Following Jim's death in 1960, Leona married Edward Bluhm on August 20, 1981.  She enjoyed traveling, reading and dancing.  Leona was a member of First Lutheran Church in Waldorf.

 

She is survived by two sons, Herman (Heide) Fogal of Rantoul, IL and Don (Ann) Fogal of Custer, SD; five grandchildren, Kari, Kathy, Kim, Shannon, and Christopher; and six great-grandchildren, Alex, Alisha, Ariana, Kimberly, Kolton, and Christian.  She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sisters, and three brothers.  

 

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 7, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf with Rev. Michael Mathews officiating.  Burial will follow at First Lutheran Cemetery in Waldorf.  Visitation will be held on Monday, one hour prior to the service at church.  Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals of Waseca is handling arrangements.
