ROBERT WAYNE BIRD, age 85 of Waseca died on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.

Born on November 11, 1925 in Waseca, Minnesota, he was the son of Benjamin and Elsie (Schmidt) Bird.  Robert graduated from Waseca Central High School in 1943.  He had worked at various locations in Waseca including the Tyrholm-Sjoberg Ford Garage where he was a mechanic for many years.   Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a former member of the First Congregational Church in Waseca.

He is survived by two nephews, one niece, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-Lyle Bird.

Funeral services will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Roger Haug officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday, one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waseca County.
