CLARA M. BARBKNECHT, age 101 of Waseca died on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Born on April 19, 1908 in Wilton Township, Waseca County, Minnesota she was the daughter of Herman and Maria (Wilken) Klinger. She attended Riverside Public School District #19 in Wilton. Clara married Helmuth Barbknecht on December 18, 1933 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Richland. Together they lived and farmed in Iosco Township. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, sewing, and family get togethers. Clara was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca and the Cotta Guild.
She is survived by three sons, Lester and Sue Barbknecht of Waseca, Wayne and Rosanne Barbknecht of Janesville, and Donald and Barbara Barbknecht of Monmouth, OR; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Adeline Enderson of Albert Lea and Mary Francis of Salem, OR; and one sister-in-law, Loretta Mosher of Janesville and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren-Rebecca and William, three brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 4-8 PM and continue on Thursday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Terry Quick officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Trinity Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County, Minnesota. |
